PRESS RELEASE—3rd October 2011

National Airports Corporation Limited (NACL) has welcomed the decision by Air Namibia and South African Airways to launch daily flights directly into Kenneth Kaunda International Airport from Windhoek and direct flights from Johannesburg into Ndola’s Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport respectively.

 

NACL Managing Director, Mr Robinson Misitala said today that the increase in frequency by Air Namibia and the introduction of the Ndola Johannesburg route by South African Airways were very positive developments that will offer passengers seamless, convenient and fast connectivity.

 

Effective from last Saturday, Air Namibia introduced direct daily flights into Lusaka from Windhoek while South African Airways launched the Ndola Johannesburg route on Sunday. 2nd October 2011.


Mr Misitala noted that as an oasis of peace, Zambia was becoming a tourist destination of choice hence the increasing demand in air travel.

He has also implored other airlines operating into Zambia to explore and open new routes to other countries.
